Fan bearings are divided into three categories: oil-bearing bearings using sliding friction (sleeve bearings) and ball bearings using rolling friction, and a mixture of the two bearing forms.
Each type of bearing is also divided into several categories according to different technologies, such as single ball bearings and double ball bearings.
Sleeve Bearing
Oil-bearing bearings are sleeve bearings with sliding friction, using lubricating oil as a lubricant and a drag reducer. Although the noise is low, the manufacturing cost is also low, but wear is serious, the service life has a very big difference compared to the ball bearing. And the use of a long time, due to the cause of oil seal, lubricating oil will gradually volatilize, and dust will also enter the bearing, resulting in slow fan speed, noise increase and other problems. When the lubrication grease inside the oil-bearing is insufficient, an obvious state of "eccentricity" will occur, which will cause the fan blade to stop turning and cause the cooling device to lose heat in a timely manner. Therefore, ordinary oil-bearing is not suitable for fans with high speed and fans with large size (over 9cm). The product life of an oil-bearing fan is usually 30,000 hours.
Hydraulic Bearing
Hydraulic bearing is improved on the basis of oil-bearing. The hydraulic bearing has a larger oil storage space than the oil-bearing, and has a unique loop type oil supply loop. The improved hydraulic bearings have a longer service life than oil-bearing bearings and also have the advantage of low operating noise. The average life of hydraulic bearings is 40,000 hours. This bearing type of fan in the current cooling market has a high proportion. Low price and low noise have become the first choice for many customers.
1 Ball Bearing
1 Ball+1 Sleeve Bearing is an improvement on the traditional oil-bearing. It adopts the mixed form of sliding friction and rolling friction. In fact, one Ball Bearing is combined with one oil-bearing to reduce the cost of the double Ball Bearing. It overcomes the problems of short life and unstable operation of oil-bearing, while the cost increase is very limited. Single ball bearings absorb the advantages of oil-bearing bearings and double ball bearings, the service life of the bearing increased to 40,000 hours, the disadvantage is that after the addition of ball bearings, operating noise increased, but still less than double ball bearings.
2 Ball Bearing
2 Ball Bearing is a kind of high-grade Bearing. It adopts the form of rolling friction and two Ball bearings. In the Bearing, several tiny steel balls revolve around the axis. Because they are spheres, there is less friction and no oil leakage. The advantage of double ball bearings is that they have a very long life, in the range of about 50,000-100,000 hours. Good anti-aging performance, suitable for high-speed fans.
