DC fan, as the name suggests, is a cooling fan that converts electric energy into electromagnetic energy through DC voltage and electromagnetic induction, then into mechanical energy, and finally into kinetic energy, so as to make the fan blades rotate.
Conventional dc fan is mainly composed of rotor, stator, motor and frame. The dc motor consists of permanent magnet rotor, multistage winding stator, position sensor and electronic commutation drive control circuit. Rotor is composed of: motor shell + permanent magnetic strip + shaft core + fan blade. Stator is composed of: enameled wire + plastic coated silicon steel sheet + bearing + hall induction detection + drive circuit board + shaft.
The core components of dc fan are stator and rotor. According to the Ampere's right-hand rule, we know that when electric current passes through a conductor, there will be a magnetic field around it. If the conductor is placed in another fixed magnetic field, there will be a suction or repulsion force, which will cause the object to move. The inner part of the fan blade of the dc fan is filled with a magnetic rubber magnet. Around the silicon steel sheet, two groups of coils are wound separately on the axis, and the hall induction module is used as a synchronous detection device to control a group of circuits. The circuit makes the two groups of coils around the axis work in turn, so that the silicon steel sheet produces different magnetic poles, which generate an attractive and repulsive force with the rubber magnet. When the repulsion force is greater than the static friction force of the fan, the fan blade rotates naturally.
Because of the synchronous signal provided by the hall induction module, the fan blade can operate continuously, and the direction of operation can be determined according to Fleming's right-hand rule. This is how the dc fan works. While WHEE is a leading motor cooling fan supplier in China, focusing on DC brushless motor cooling fans/cooler and modular design, on products including industrial cooling fan, universal cooling fan, DC axial fans, centrifugal blowers, frameless fans, micro fans, CPU cooler, and thermal module.
Cooling fans are mainly dc cooling fans and ac cooling fans. The differences between the two kinds of fans are mainly shown in the following three points:
1. The principle is different:
The power supply of AC cooling fan is AC, and the voltage of power supply will change sinusoidally. However, the voltage of power supply of DC cooling fans is fixed, which must rely on the circuit control, so that the two groups of coils work in turn to produce different magnetic fields. Because the power frequency of AC fan is fixed, the change speed of magnetic pole produced by silicon steel sheet is determined by the power frequency. The higher the frequency is, the faster the switching speed of magnetic field will be. Theoretically, the speed will be faster, just like the principle that the more the number of poles of dc fan is, the faster the speed will be. However, the frequency should not be too fast, or it will cause difficulties in activation. We use dc fans on the computer radiator. Generally, a good cooling fan mainly focuses on the air flow, rotation speed, noise, service life, and the type of blade bearing.
2. The air flow is different:
For cooling fans of the same size and specification, the motor volume of AC fan is large and the blades are short, while that of dc fan is just the opposite, and the blades are long and the motor is small such as the micro DC fan, so the air flow per unit area is more, the air flow is larger and the heat dissipation capacity is better.
3. The materials are different:
The outer frame of AC fan is generally aluminum frame, while that of dc fan is plastic frame. Therefore, the capacity of temperature resistance is different. The choice of dc fan or AC fan depends on which product is more suitable for its own product with the same cost.
